Turning a pale blue, leaning in to say...

So last week on Wednesday I flew out to Wichita Falls early in the morning to rent a car, do some work out in Vernon, drive back, and then fly back to Austin all in the same day. But because Wichita Falls completely hates me, I get back to the airport in the middle of nowhere and it turns out all of North Texas was grounded due to some freakishly huge storm. It was amazing to look at, but being cramped into a small waiting room with about 40-50 other people was... not how I wanted to spend my day. My 12 hour workday turned roughly into a 22 hour one, which even someone like myself might think is a little much.

Friday I managed to get down to San Antonio and meet wirh Campos for the first time in years. I think my attempt to actually get a statewide tournament circuit in Texas may not be a total pipe dream, but as David said "we're all so very fat, and that makes us very lazy. Have a cheeseburger, man."

Class on Saturday. I'm adult enough to admit that I didn't do so great but childish enough to want to blame other factors - I was tired from the SA trip, the classroom was 75 degrees, I got dehydrated, the sun got in my eyes, I slept on my hand, etc etc. Talking with people is my favorite part of the whole shebang, so feeling like I botched it made for a pretty tiring day. We made it over to Knutson's, but really all I had the energy to do was sit there and be a cushionweight.

By Sunday, I just wanted to get up and veg the f out, so I did. Worked on decks off and on while farming instances in WoW. It was completely nerd day - I will even admit here that I didn't even shave or shower. And the Sun? F that thing, we didn't have any face time the whole day.

Yesterday was me trying to catch up on housework and spend a little time on the bike outside before Kim and I made it to the Julie&Julia feast at the Alamo. The food was pretty great, and I have to say that if the French drink like that at every meal I may have found some gruding pebble of respect for them. The movie was really great for about half of it: the half that dealt with Julia Child. The half about the chick who wrote the book was predicable and a little irritating, which is probably par for the course since no one can seem to write imaginative relationship tension anymore. Definitely worth it though.

And that's it.

With nothing to gain, here's the clincher -
This should be you, made cold and crippled.

friends, work, l5r
