There are few things as sigularly painful as planning out all sorts of things to put into an assignment, and finding out your allotted word count is enough to do about ONE THIRD OF THEM.
I may cry... or explode.
Kotei this weekened - Kim and I have worked up some good gag gifts to go along with the real merchandise Bancroft was good enough to pony up for this year. The tournament is shaping up to be both huge and fun, which means I have equal chances of smoothly running one of the largest tournaments in north america again or blowing the entire thing. If it goes poorly, I'll paing a target on Bancroft and run for the hills.
Finally finished Golden Fucking Sun 2 yesterday. The last fight literally took me 45 minutes, and goddamnit I thought it was great. I didn't check, but I think I ended up logging about 65 or 70 hours into that game by the end, and I've learned there's a whole fuckton of things I missed or passed over. I really don't care that much, since I've never really bothered to be very completionist with my games. My only worry now is that I have to find another GBA game to hold my interest at work. Or I could do the 100+ character writeups for the LARP this year. I've got a handful of them done, and if I actually just sit down and work the fuckers, I can get it finished. It's just so much work. Then again, I'm not doing much of anything at the office but coming up with more reasons to leave. bleh.
Surprised I haven't seen much commentary on the Buffy finale. I guess that may stem from the fact it was relatively underwhelming. I don't have any serious problem with how the series ended, I just feel a little shortchanged because it didn't seem like it was much of a finale. It just seemed like a good season ender or even a mid-season "winning time" episode. The only thing that pisses me off about it is that so few people died.
Other than all that crap, things are just moving on. The current AEG assignment was handed out earlier this week, my book's sailing along well, and Kim finally got a job she's comfortable with. Hopefully we'll have our own place here in a month. We've sorta scrapped the house buying plan for now, since it requires a good chunk of change we don't have. The best plan right now seems to rent someplace soon, since that'll solve the "privacy" issues we've been having quickly. From there, we've budgeted out being able to get our own house (possibly) after something of a 6 month lease or so wherever we end up renting.
Anywho, back to work.
