And we'll just put the rest of this drivel in bullet points because it's my journal and you can do nothing but WATCH. HAhahahahaah
- Gardening almost done out front. Kinda leaving a nice flower bed out front of Jake's house as a "thank you" gift for letting us rent out a room in his house for the past year and a half (and then some) at a pretty good rate. I know he deals with more shit regarding that house than he mentions, so I figured the least me and Kim could do was replace the ugly-as-shit front shrubbery and dying weeds with a tiered garden of roses and tulips. In case you were wondering, my inner fag can still beat you up.
- Took some time to consider the war and everything. Hipmamamade (or quoted, I can't tell sometimes with her, recently) a comment the other day that she's not neccessarily against the war, but against any sort of American imperialism. I'm gonna have to say I agree with that. Yes, Sadam is an asshole dictator and it's good to be liberating some people and all that good news. However, I may never be convinced that's really why we're bombing things and whatnot. War is no good, people dying on either side is a goddamned tragedy, but it's not like I'm going to spit on our soldiers for being baby burners or anything. They signed on to the Army fully aware that they were going to become machines in the employ of the United States. They did not sign on to murder innocents, and they are fufilling a duty they promised to fufil. I don't envy them in anything about their lives right now, and I respect all of them (except this report I hear about a fucking US soldier actually sabotaging his own unit and killing some of them, or something. I can't keep up with this crap half the time to seperate wild fantasy from truth).
- Got a "promotion" at SBC this week. Not really a step up in pay or anything, but a "work reassignment" that they scoured the office to find workers for. Out of about 300 reps on the floor, they picked 21 and I got on the team. I guess it's more of a step ahead in prestige, since we're going to be handling more responsibility, which is fine with me. My dedication to a job is pretty well equivalent to the value the company places on me. If they feel like they can trust me to do this sort of work, I'm going to go ahead and do it. And I get weekends off now, which may or may not have factored into me accepting the position...
- Kim's gone for a week to Canada and stuff. Chances are I'll just use the extra "me time" to hurry up and kick out the current assignment I have a month early. Wouldn't that be nice to actually happen? Yessss...
