Miscellany
I have an unscheduled day off from work because my Little Mister is sick. He has been sick since Friday, which is unusual for him. My kids (*knock wood* and all of that) are typically healthy aside from an occasional cold or whatever. But he has been running a fever since Friday and has just been wilted and sad most of that time. I took him in yesterday and he has an ear infection, but she's pretty sure the fever is from some virus that is causing the cough/runny nose. But he has his first ear infection and his first prescription for antibiotics. I wonder if he will be allergic to the pink stuff like me and Punk.
Since I don't have benefits, I am losing a day's pay. That's rough, because I need every day's pay I can get. But what can you do? Hopefully he will feel better tomorrow and can go to day care. *fingers crossed* In the meantime, I have done a lot of laundry.
We're staring down the barrel of kindergarten over here and I have a lot of irons in the fire. We're in the lotteries for the two charters around here (neither of which are convenient to our house but I'll worry about that IF we get in), and I submitted a school choice application for the next town over, where Punk's preschool is. Our neighborhood school system is "okay" and I'm cool with her going there (we're planning on it, actually, because I doubt any of these other things will come through), but it's nice to have options.
