Christmas was lovely. I got to spend some quality time with my sister, mostly on her schedule, but it was great to catch up. Since I moved across the country and she's gotten married, it's been difficult to keep up with her, but this trip is helping.

I watched Anne of Green Gables with my mom and grandma, with my dad snickering with us (and at us) as he flicked through my Japan pictures. That show, a television miniseries released by the Canadians in the '80s, has to be one of the things with the best memories for my family. Well, I'm now visiting my family in North Carolina, and arrived right before this humongous tsunami-inducing earthquake hits Japan. Just got back from a week visiting my family in NC- it was great to be back for a bit.  As usual, the weather was spastic- in the 30s some days, and sunny and 65 the next.  I watched a lot of movies- saw Avatar again because my dad hadn't seen it (against my will!), Princess and the Frog, and Up in the Air.  The latter one is a George Clooney in it ( Read more... )

First of all, I got home to North Carolina safely and with an almost ridiculous lack of event.  Both flights were on time, and the second one was even directly across from the first one.  I didn't even sit down in between.

My family hardly ever sees movies that I recommend to them unless I sit them down and watch it with them.

WALL-E was no exception. Everybody enjoyed it a lot, and we also had fun watching Twilight. However, watching Twilight with your dad is not for the faint of heart.
