ARGH. In case you haven't heard me complain about it yet, my laptop has been messed up lately. So tonight I typed this long journal entry, and then everything froze up, so now I'm stuck typing it all over. This version will be a little shorter because I'm tired and annoyed. grrr And needless to say, I'll have to start shopping around for a new one soon I think, as my warranty ran out at midnight. :(
First a quick note, I added the pic of the girly version of my formerly boyish bedroom back home in WV to the "Thanksgiving Week" entry below.
This weekend was a lot like usual, but also very different in a few ways (how's that for vague and nonsensical?). In true Jeremy fashion, Young & Justin picked me up at the airport around 9, then we headed to Burger King, then back to my house. I showered and threw on some clothes, and we headed out to the Wave. The crowd was pretty good. I saw some people I hadn't seen in a looooong time, and I also met some new people. There was some thing about
Carson from Queer Eye being there, but I didn't actually get to see him. I know at least one person who supposedly got pics, so maybe I'll post one in the near future. I think everybody I was with saw and/or met him except me. haha I'm not a celebrity stalker or anything, but I like to see tv personalities in real life just out of curiosity to see how different they are. Oh well. Tony's friends Jason and Keith were also visiting from Michigan for the weekend. I liked them both. I talked to Jason some outside the club too. He seems like a sweet, cool guy, so he will probably end up in some future journal entries. :-p I love Tony, and I'm glad he shared his friends with us. =) After the club, I somehow made it through the rain to a little after-party at Tim & RJ's. It was interesting, as I learned some things. We'll leave it at that. Tony took some good pics at the club too, maybe I'll post a few of those tomorrow when I'm more awake.
Sunday I felt pretty bad, I'm not sure if it was because I didn't eat properly in WV, because I wore myself out meeting family obligations, or because I spent all day Saturday in airports or on planes. :) But anyways, I slept a lot, and I felt mostly better by later in the night, so I made it out to the Cactus. The drag show wasn't anything special this week, although we did do a great drunken group rendition of "O Holy Night" at the end of the show, definitely overshadowing the host. haha The Wet & Wild was sad too, they actually took a moment in the middle of the show just to try to recruit contestants. I think they ended up with 3. I believe Willie won, but I was so out of it at that point, I don't remember for sure. The music was great though. DJ Eric has done a great job lately of mixing things up. He's played new stuff mixed with old stuff mixed with just plain different stuff. He's always been good, I've just been more pleased lately.
Tonight I watched the new show
"The Real Gilligan's Island" on TBS with Lee (we watch tv together online all the time ;-) haha). It was cute I guess. In case you have been under a rock, they have 2 teams of people who fit the Gilligan's Island characters in real life (a professor, a skipper, a millionaire and his wife, etc.). They compete each week until there's 1 of each, and then that crew of castaways tries to get off the island, or something like that. Gilligan #1 is hot. I think there's something wrong with Gilligan #2, I feel bad laughing at him. Nicole Eggert is one of the "movie stars." I used to fantasize about her. haha One of the millionaires is listed as being worth "over 500 million", while the other is just listed as "under 3 million." You KNOW that the 500 million guy must think the other guy is a total loser. haha One of the millionaires' wives is a real bitch though. Half the time she is annoying, and half the time she is soooo far off base and insane that it's funny. For instance, she was freaking out about the gay professor and gay people in general, and she said that right now there are people out there somewhere having sex with snakes (???), and that if we start allowing people of the same sex to marry, that's just going to open the door for people to start marrying their snakes and cats and other things. UGH. Besides the obvious fact that those arguments have nothing to do with two consenting adults, that's just craziness. It's sad how far people will reach when they get desperate and have no other rock to stand on.
I missed out on a lot of sleep this weekend, so I've been trying to catch up. For some reason though, tonight I feel like playing Xbox instead. haha But I am going to fight the urge to play
Grand Theft Auto: Vice City and try to be responsible. :)
That's all for now though, I'm heading off here. Everybody have a good one!
