YAI (yet another idea...)
I have not watched much TV recently, to be honest, so this one may have already been done --- though, I would have hoped to have heard of it by now.
Fairly simple idea here. Could be used by either TechTV or the Sci-Fi channel (different targets, and therefore slightly different themes, probably). But the idea would be to do a SNL-type show aimed straight at the techies or, trekies, depending on which channel did it. With all the literature in the Sci-Fi/Fantasy world, and with all the games in the tech world --- there would be no end of source material. Would be pretty cool to see Master Chief (from Halo) make a guest appearance during the news. Or Tanis Half-Elvin (from the DragonLance books) participate in a skit with someone from, oh --- how about half-cocked Jack (from Neal Stephenson's The Baroque Cycle)? The show could be completely animated, though real people in COS-play outfits would be funnier, I think.
Wonder if I could run it by the network execs. LOL --- what if?
