Ratlings!
I have adopted two very cute, very smart male rats! They are five weeks old (born on March 16th) and they are very inquisitive.
I was really nervous at first because they didn't seem to want to be held or touched, but I've read a bunch about them, and a lot of people say that the babies are just too active to want to be held.
I started training them to sit in my hands using strawberry yogurt. Oblio (the albino one) is still too nervous to want to put more than his front two feet on my hand, but Archimedes (the tan-faced cutie) will sit in my hand for about ten seconds before he decides he wants to go play with Oblio.
They are huge sweeties and haven't bitten me yet, but apparently male rats sometimes get a little angry after their first 12 - 15 weeks of life so we'll see how that goes. Hopefully with a lot of handling they'll love me and not bite my fingers off.
