What a slug I am
I haven't posted here in forever! It's been an interesting and busy time. I'm working in DC now (Pentagon), and I'm an IBMer. Work sucks, but then again, work has sucked for a long time.
The purpose of this entry however, is not to whine. It's to start the new NaNoWriMo! Yep, I'm 1 and 1. This year I hope to not only hit my 50,000 words ahead of schedule, but hopefully even go a bit beyond. This year it's sci-fi, and of course, there will be ferrets involved.
Speaking of ferrets, for those who are counting, we're up to 7:
Sherlock (the first)
Penny Priddy (about 2 weeks younger then Sherlock)
Watson and Dolly (adopted from the Chicago shelter)
Rachel (adopted when a friend of Laura's from work couldn't keep her)
Moriarty (Store bought at a pet store in Fairview Heights, IL)
...and...
Buckaroo Banzai (adopted from the local humane society)
The house continues. We now have stairs, and a remodeled downstairs bath. Oh, and new siding, upstairs windows, and upstairs flooring. Current project is creating a new bathroom for upstairs.
As to NaNo, I started on the train this morning - got 1195 words banged out. I had originally indented to write a fantasy, but.... dunno what happened, but happen it did.
