New Shooooz
Well, I decided that it was time to get a more sturdy shoe due to the fact that I'm riding the scooter to work every day now. My usual semi-dress shoes are low cut, and way to slippery. So, based on recommendations from a friend in the Kymco group, I went to Zappos They're having a great sale on these Dr. Martens. They arrived today (free shipping, plus Zappos "upgraded" my shipping to 2nd day - nice people). Anyway, they arrived today, and so far are quite comfortable, and look good enough to work at work (mostly casual, but no T-shirts, jeans, or tennis shoes).
As to house news - the work continues. The drywall should be up and taped by the time I get home - mudding and sanding done by the end of the week. The kitchen cabinets will arrive on the 25th! The appliances will be scheduled for delivery once we have the floor done. We still have to do the floor, ceiling, and paint, but at least it's progress! -- Oh yeah, and we have to replace the sashed in the windows - all four of them in the kitchen.
The bathroom is still a mess. 80% of the drywall is up, and all of the major patch-disasters are filled in (Laura and I are doing the bathroom - the kitchen is contractors). I hope to finish hanging the drywall tonight, and start the taping. It's going to be interesting, as we left as much of the existing plaster as we could, so there will be some "drywall meets plaster" issues to deal with during the mudding.
Back to paying for all of this now.
