Progress!!!
It's actually happening. There are workers at my house!
Laura and I are renovating the downstairs bathroom ourselves (less the actual plumbing). Currently, it's in the "completely destroyed" stage. The new shower, sink, etc. are supposed to arrive tomorrow.
The contractors are busy shoring up the kitchen floor (starting with a couple of new support jacks in the basement). By the end of next week, the wall separating the front room and the kitchen should be gone and replaced with a new support beam.
Our HVAC guy will be replacing the air conditioner and all of the basement duct work starting next Monday. Laura and I have already torn out about half of the old ducts. He will be installing a zoned heating and cooling system so that we will be able to run with one furnace and one air conditioner.
