Finishing January in pictures

One more week in photos gone by. I feel like this was kind of a weaker week in photos, but there was one every day, so here's the shot of the week:

This is the Irvine river near my office from Thursday. Yes, this is what we call a "river" in southern CA. When it does rain the water is routed through here. Back in the postwar era as urban areas spread, the risk of flooding during those rare rains meant that water channels needed to be made, so you see a lot of these around the area. I figured I'd show it in its normal state so that later I can show it when we do eventually get rain.

Monday I decided to pull out the rules to Mega Civilization to go back over what we did right and wrong (quite a few things wrong prompted this). I'm going to try to do another one at the end of February so this will help make sure that one runs a little more correctly and smoothly!

Tuesday night Mage Knight: get used to it! :) This week's thing of note was that I managed to pick a spell that in the end was completely useless. Considering that they're powerful and expensive, it was a bit sad. We still won, but not with a great score.

Wednesday night I caught up on The Expanse. I thought this shot would come out better than it did. The TV screen is really nice. I guess I'll need to keep figuring out how to make that better....

When you're stuck for ideas, there's always the southern CA sunset.... I really need to figure Fridays out for photo ops....

Saturday was Pepper's (our goddaughter's) third birthday. There was a lot of princess, and after the party there were presents and then some grown up gaming. A good day overall!

Sunday I'd been looking forward to the season finale of Galavant! Such an amazing show! Once again, though, my "photos of TV screen" idea was really not that great. Sigh.
