Spokane Symphony

I went to the Spokane Symphony concert on Friday with Paul, Regina and Brittany--that was fun. We went to the Old Spaghetti Factory first, of course. They performed a work of Glazunav (which I thought was really, really good), then the Khachaturian piano concerto (I've never really liked that piece, to tell the truth), and then they performed Tchaikovsky's Sixth Symphony, which is what I really wanted to hear. For those who aren't familiar with that symphony, it was the last work he had ever written (he died nine days after he completed it). He wrote "...I poured my soul into this symphony"--pretty intense.

But yeah--lots of interesting stuff between here and Spokane--Garfield, for instance, has some weird stuff in it--the highlight was the fake cop car with the fake cop in it. Allow me to elaborate. There is what looks like a cop car parked on the side of the highway, but on closer inspection, you realize that the driver is just a dummy. You've seriously got to wonder about a town who invests money on a vehicle they don't use, and a fake driver. I've been told it's been in that exact spot for at least 5 years.

Anyway, I'm going to go--been really busy--6 hours of practicing per day at least! But it's good.

Practicing,
Joe
