My kind of town, Chicago is...

Have had a wonderful 30-ish hours thus far with angelchicken. A day and a half left to go on my verrah short sojourn.

We went to Taste of Chicago today and then the Art Institute of Chicago (which is right there, then headed up to Wrigley to hopefully buy tickets for tonight's Cubs game. The first stand we went to said there were only 100$ tickets left. I was dejected and almost turned around, but Anne wanted to try another kiosk, where we were able to get 20$ seats. Basically in the back corner of the stadium. I was literally up against the barrier that keeps one from falling to their deaths, on the highest level.

I texted abby20, who was also planning to be there with a different group, to ask her where her tickets were. She told me the same section aisle we were in, and one row back. (Ha ha, we got better seats than her.)

So Anne and I were watching for a group of like, five chicks, and I totes recognized Abby. I yelled and waved, and she did not see. So after they were all settled, I sent a creepy text telling her to look in front of her and to the left. When she did, I waved.

I got to meet my beloved Abbycakes! After only 9 and a half years of talking online! She spent a few innings with us (the game went mostly ignored) and then we all relocated to a location a leeetle closer and out of the wind.

Cubs lost, 2-1, and none of us were terribly chuffed. Now Anne and I are back at her place and chillin' (Peekie-snuggling may be involved), me with her iBook and her with my actual book (Cleolinda's M15M book). Lincoln Park Zoo, Sears Tower, drinks and dinner with Abby, eee1313, and deeablo, and the Eclipse midnight showing with Anne are on tomorrow's itinerary.
