"Let's go to the ladies' room and stare at ourselves in the mirror."

Just finished tonight's True Blood episode. Solid. Far better than the premiere. Apparently Todd Lowe has always been Terry Bellefleur? Because I just noticed his name in the credits last week and now I'm wondering how I missed that whilst watching the first 24 eps. Also, my download got up to 1.3MB/sec, which isn't really relevant to anything, but it made me very happy.

Oh, and I bought a car today. From a co-worker, whose husband is a mechanic. He and his fellow mechanic dudes had been tinkering with it. It's a '94 Grand Am, which is completely new for me. I'm always had a Ford Tempo (this one was an '88) since I got my license in early '98. Except for that one time I had a Mercury Topaz, which is exactly the same. Less than a thou, including some work he's going to do tomorrow. KBB value is 1200$; they gave me a break because I was willing to take it and they knew I needed it asap. They wouldn't have to make an effort to get it gone.

Wipes out Friday's paycheck, and then some, but thankfully I do have meager savings to replenish my funds for next week's brief vacay. Also, fortuitously, I now have a way to get there, too.

And I didn't have to take out a loan, which I didn't want to do. I really didn't want to get a new car, either, actually, but I had 3+ issues pop up at once, and getting them all fixed would have cost the same or more, so. Might as well get something a little newer. Even if it does break my heart to part with my beloved Giles.

Went to the 'rents for Father's Day today. Mom's b-day is tomorry, too, so it was kind of a two-fer. I left their presents at my place, because I wasn't thinking. Also, one of my tires went flat on my parents' road. I think if you're going to have a tire go flat, on a dirt road doing 15 mph and 500 feet from your destination is the place to do it. I highly recommend. Soooo that was fun. We didn't get to changing it until after dinner, so it was getting darker as we were needing to see what we're doing. I can now tell you the complete contents of my trunk, because I had to remove everything to get at the spare.

I also came home with something extra. My dad's keys. Which I'd placed in my car after grabbing them to open the trunk. Ugh! It's such a "me" thing to do. Reminds me of when I left a cell phone in escap1974's car because I was charging it on the way to the airport.

Will end on a brainteaser. I worked for the Census in 2000, and I got this car in '04, so how do I have a Census duffel in my trunk??? Also, I wonder if I can get any cash for a stuffed Stewie.

financially prudent (ha ha ha), tv, blah blah blah
