I applied for two internships in Washington, DC. One was with the Department of Justice--Antitrust Division, and the other with the Congressional Budget Office. Both said in their internship descriptions that the programs were open to College Juniors and Seniors. Last night, I was rejected by the Department of Justice due to a high number of Ph.D. students applying for the internship. That one, I don't feel too bad about because there were 125 applicants for four spots.
This morning, I was rejected by the CBO. In their e-mail, they wrote, "The number of applications we received from well qualified applicants for this year's
program far exceeded the number of internship opportunities available this summer
considering CBO's internship program is geared toward graduate study." WHY WOULD THEY WRITE THAT IT IS OPEN TO COLLEGE JUNIORS AND SENIORS if they had no intention of accepting any non-graduate students?
State Farm is being very lackidasical. I interviewed about six weeks ago, and they told me that they would let me know soon (probably within a week). I haven't heard a word from them. I sent the lady an email about two weeks ago, and she hasn't responded.
Now, I'm pretty much hoping that I will be offered the internship in Greenwich, or I have no idea what I will do this summer.
