You know, it's funny. You've asked me that before.
And?
He glances over at Carter and can't fight the smile that comes to his face. He takes a bite of his oatmeal to hide it, but he's pretty sure he fails. Carter's looking at him with a slightly baffled look on her face and he's sure Daniel is too, though he can only see Carter right now. He can hear her unspoken words clear as day.
What are you smiling about?
But he knows he can't tell her what happened during that particular loop. Things have already started to get complicated, and he's not about to make it worse. So he swallows his oatmeal and smiles. No point in hiding it anymore, even though he's sure he'll be questioned incessantly by Daniel later.
He's not just smiling because he finally got to kiss Carter.
He's smiling because when he kissed her, she kissed him, too.
