Just a followup note here from me on a topic broached earlier in my LJ version of the journal about the Chinese explorer Zheng He.   I was gassing on about ‘we need fresher AH situations’ and Steve Silver brought up the idea of Zheng He’s expeditions finding Australia and colonizing it (as it would have looked pretty empty to the Chinese).

• Along with bigger oil demands, Chinese women also are demanding bigger bra sizes.  The obvious reason is that the Chinese people are nutritionally better off and exercising, etc.  But it makes a great headline...

It appears that while the whole issue of immigration is hot, the Department of Homeland Security and other related organizations are suddenly deciding to push the idea of actually enforcing the existing laws against, say, employers of illegal immigrants. There was a big thing in the news about a ring a child-stealers in China who were passing on the kids for adoption for money; here's the latest on this...claiming that none of the kids were 'sold' to Americans.  That makes sense to me...

The collaborative's biggest success, the Pan Asian Volunteer Health Clinic, operates every Tuesday evening in a county building in Silver Spring.
