Just found this one in a local Jiangmen paper; the original in Chinese shows pictures from the adoption papers of the girls! So the reporters *had* to have spoken with the orphanage in Jiangmen!

This version is a long longer, and just as hokey as the last one.

The two things that are very true on all of this is the connection between the girls and its great depth, and their desire to be near each other (as in live-right-next-door-and-best-buddies). The part that is true but muddied up beyond all recognition is the parents-jobs-tie-them-to-their-present-place part. There's no contracts involved. In my situation, I have a job that will kick into a very nice pension plan when I retire in a few years, and it would be hard for me to find another such job in Alabama (the feds aren't hiring since the war is sucking up all stray money, and my web / tech job is rather unique). Given my health and the job situation, we're unlikely to move soon.
