Last week, after I stopped taking the oral antibiotics for the cellulitis, the stuff came back, along with fever. On Saturday, I went back to the ER at Northwestern; they hooked me up to one dose of IV antibiotics and sent me home with oral antibiotics. Unfortunately, that didn’t work worth a damn either, and the cellulitis is spreading - it’s gone from just my left ankle to halfway up my leg below my knee.
At this point, I’m going to switch over to Good Samaritan - the Northwestern folks have had two whacks at fixing this and they blew it both times, and Good Sam is also the local hospital to my home and the one my podiatrist works out of . I’m tired of this mess going on, and I want it fixed, and this all over with. (Not to mention tired of dealing with the fevers and feeling like canned crud.) They seemed to have more on the ball in regard to infectious disease stuff, and I’m not impressed with
Dr. Grover, the guy who was assigned to my case at Northwestern.
Anyway, just bringing you up to date.
