Kindle: Reset and Lock

Kindle problem #1: The machine has been continually locking up on me. Had to hard reset it several times, and finally called up Kindle Support.

That was actually quite interesting. You go to the Contact Us link, click for a phone call, and it asks for YOUR phone number. Fill that in, and Kindle Support calls YOU. (This was Saturday night, so I was surprised and pleased at the quick response.) The answer was to do their ’soft’ reboot; according to the tech, the Kindle will sometimes get gunked in software where a soft reboot will straighten things out (especially the power-monitoring software) where a hard reboot would not. Odd, but hey…and it seems to work.

Now, that’s customer service.
