Everything's going ok so far. I think I'm *mostly* over the jet lag, and I've started to get some work done.
Sunday I settled in and mostly didn't sleep. Monday I got up late, said hi to people, and got a little work done. Then out to Pub Quiz at
Mr. Pickwick, which my team did ok at - fourth place, in a bar full of physicists and grad students. It helped that one of the categories was "The Simpsons", and we had a ridiculous proportion of Americans on the team.
Tuesday was pretty productive. I made it out of bed in time to jog (in the friggin ass cold) for about 30 minutes, clean up, and get to breakfast before nine. I got some work done, and my nutrition today was pretty good. I got invited to go skiing.
I haven't been taking pictures. I keep forgetting I have a camera. oops. But on the other hand, so far I haven't really seen much. CERN's campus looks pretty much like any government-run semi-industrial complex. Think of the last military base you were on, replace all the troop transports with bicycles and all the guns with pocket protectors, and you've pretty much got the idea.
More later.
