Osoroi (Matching)

“Matching” is for becoming better friends and improving teamwork. We asked them episodes on what their past and future “matching” episodes are! Everyone actually likes matching! (Interview took place in the middle of May)

Kaoru Kuramoto

Matching… It seems fun, and I like it. My ideal is that we have something with different colors instead of the exact same thing. If I receive something as a souvenir or present, I feel happy because it’s like our friendship will get stronger. I’ll be moved that someone thinks of me properly as a comrade. If I was to have something matching among the Juniors, maybe Mizuki-kun. The “ONE PIECE” strap that Mizuki-kun has is really cool, and I want one, too. If I were to match with the person I like, it’ll be a ring for sure. It feels mature, and I admire that. Of course, I’ll buy it for her! I want to give it to her as a present on special days like her birthday, Christmas, or anniversary. Recently, I’m really hyped up for my school’s Sports Day! I’m going to be a part of a few events, but I’m especially excited for the mock cavalry battle. Instead of individual events, I get more excited for team events. Oh, and our headbands are matching (laughs).

Mizuki Inoue

Something that I think of first when I hear “matching” is the parka, keychain, and shoes bag that I received during “Takizawa Kabuki.” It feels like it’s a waste to use it, so I still have it kept safely. It’s my treasure. And before, when I went to the amusement park, I bought about ten Juniors straps as souvenirs. It made me happy to see them using it. When I visit somewhere, I buy souvenirs. If I get a girlfriend in the future, I want to buy pair accessories that come together as one. Clothes and such are too embarrassing, but if my girlfriend wants to, maybe I’ll wear it during dates… (embarrassed). Recently, after watching Arashi’s Sakurai-kun’s CM, I’m into the “Pino” ice cream! And the other time, when the Juniors met before work, Kaiho was somewhere else and it was hard to meet up with him.

Jun Kaiho

I don’t really have any pair items, but I think it’s good to have something in between friends and close buddies. It’s also probably fun to go hang out somewhere and choose something together. It’ll also be a memento then. If I get a girlfriend in the future, I want to have something subtle like accessories or straps matching with her. I don’t really like matching items that are obvious and flaunting… I’ll be glad if the girl chooses the item. Even if I don’t like it, I’ll take care of it properly. And a part of the Juniors are into nameko mushroom straps from the iPhone application, and I kind of want it too. Maybe I should ask them where they got it, and have it matching (laughs). Recently, there was a happy event! There was a physical examination at my school, and my height increased. I’m happy that my weight didn’t change but my height increased. I still want to be taller!

Koki Furubayashi

I don’t really have anything matching with others… Between brothers, we often buy different things on purpose. Oh, but I had the same shoes with a Junior I haven’t really talked to by coincidence. The people around me were like, “They’re the same shoes!” (laughs). In the future, when I get a girlfriend, I want to have matching items with her. I don’t care what it is, but it might be good to have a cell phone strap or something that I can attach and carry around. I can’t suggest it myself, but if I’m told to, I’ll put it on. Recently, the Hey! Say! JUMP concert was fun! I think I’ve gradually grabbed how things go and I have some leeway now. There are moves where we use giant fans, and I like it because it’s interesting. Oh, by the way, I’m going to a camping trip with my school! We’re going to make a travel guide tomorrow, so I’m really excited!

Saneyasu Takahashi

I don’t really think that matching items are all that great. I don’t have anything matching either. Before, a senior’s bracelet was cool, so I wanted to wear it, but I didn’t feel like buying the same thing. Even if I get a girlfriend, I don’t think I want many matching items. If she wants to, I guess I will. If that happens, I want it to be like an accessory of some sort. I can’t do pair looks and such (laughs). In the “Crea” showing, Totzuka-kun crossed in front of me as I was going to the stage. And then, he called out to me, “Hey Sane! I’m watching Jr.Land! Do your best!” After that, Tsukada-kun passed by and said, “Saneyasu, was it Jr.Land? I’m watching it!” I was really happy that they remembered my name! In “Crea,” the distance between the audience and the stage is close, so I feel strongly that I’m being watched, and I feel like I was able to grow.

Rei Wakiyama

I have matching cell phone straps with some Juniors that I’m friendly with. It’s Shindou-kun, Igarashi-kun, Chida-kun, and me, and the strap has each of our initials on it. It’s a souvenir that I bought at a theme park, so when I see someone putting it on, I feel extra happy. Come to think of it, I also had the same bear cell phone strap with Nishimoto-kun. Since it was handmade, it was fragile, and Nishimoto-kun broke his, but I actually have an extra one handy (laughs). I haven’t had the chance to give it to him yet, but if I hand him a new one, he might be surprised. As for the “Crea,” the A.B.C-Z with noon boyz concert was fun. From last year, I’m often able to be at the back of noon boyz, and I’m happy that they remember my name. From April, I’m going to be a high school student, and I think my consciousness towards the stage has increased.

Ryuichi Tanimura

A year or so ago, Mizuki-kun gave Shouri-kun, Kuramoto-kun, and I character key chains. It was a souvenir from an amusement park, but I was just happy that I had the same thing with everyone else. If I get a girlfriend in the future, I want something matching that I can carry around, like a cell phone strap. If it was something that she picked for me, I would carry it happily, but since it would be sad if it broke, I want it to be sturdy (laughs). And I admire Sakurai Sho-kun, so I want the same qualifications and certificates as him! Even though that’s not an item, it’s still considered matching, right? In the Hey! Say! JUMP concert, there was an embarrassing happening during the Yokohama arena showing. Throughout the whole showing, I was about to slip and fall for about three times. On the first day, I actually did fall down once, and I think some of the fans might have noticed (laughs).

Kei Kurita

During the first year of middle school, there was a school camping trip to go skiing, and my friends and I bought the same key chain there as mementoes. My siblings are both elder sisters, so I don’t have anything matching with them, but I wore hand-me-downs. And the shape of Shori-kun’s hat is cool, and I want a similar shaped hat. With the girl I like, I don’t really have an ambition of having matching items as her, I guess? If the girl wants to, I would, but I don’t think I would suggest it. In the Hey! Say! JUMP concert, each one of the songs was really fun! Backstage, Kishi (Yuta) and Miyachika suddenly starts to sing, so everyone else joined in and got excited. And I gave Kaede a birthday present. He likes melon bread, so I gave him a cell phone case with melon bread designs. He was really happy!
