[Translation]Potato 03/2012 Shonosuke Muraji+Takayuki Konno

As soon as I saw this article, I had to translate Shonosuke and Takayuki's parts. I've been a huge fan of this shamisen-shigin (traditional Japanese three-stringed instrument that Shonosuke plays and traditional Japanese poetry chanting that Takayuki does) duo since the first time I saw them together. It's pretty rare for them to get featured in magazines or onscreen together, although Takayuki does appear regularly with several HHJ members on a show called "R no Housoku" and has had a minor role in a drama. They are may not be the cutest or handsomest juniors, but they have two very original talents and it makes me super happy that they've gotten a chance to shine here. Please enjoy reading about how Shonosuke gets licked awake sometimes (!!) and what Takayuki's ideal future family breakfast time is (∩_∩).
Note that Taiga Kyomoto appeared with them in this photoshoot, but that I have only translated Shonosuke and Takayuki's parts.

The theme is “morning.” We asked about things such as how they spend the time between when they wake up and when they leave their home, and about their breakfast menus. Moreover, when they get married in the future, how would they like to spend their mornings? That sort of wild talk is also… ♥ (this interview was conducted in January)

Shonosuke Muraji: I’m generally weak in the mornings. On days off, I’ve slept three or four times a day, and, moreover, during the winter season I get even slower at wriggling out of my futon. It’s because I’m absolutely horrible with the cold. The way I generally wake up is with a loud alarm, but sometimes our dogs wake me up. We keep two Chihuahuas as pets, and when my parents say: “go wake Shonosuke up~” they really come quickly. Then, since they slobber all over my face, of course anybody would wake up (smile). For breakfast, it’ll often randomly be something from these options: hot dogs, toast with jam, pancakes, or French toast. If you were to ask whether my family serves Japanese or Western style food, it’d be Western, probably. By the way, if soup or my favorite, omelets, comes out for breakfast, I think: “lucky!” ♪
Something that made me happy recently was challenging dances that were harder than ever before in [Shinshun Takizawa Kakumei/New Spring Takizawa Revolution]. During scenes were I play the shamisen, I sometimes get focused on how my sleeves are flapping (smile), but I try to give an enjoyable exhibition!

Takayuki Konno: On every ordinary day, I have to leave my home by 8 in the morning. But I always sleep until the very last second, so I’m often late. The other day I opened my eyes at exactly 8, so I seriously had to hurry (smile). Since my mornings are so rushed, I usually can’t eat breakfast. If I do eat, my stomach starts to hurt, so somehow my body must have gotten reformed so that it’s okay for me not to eat. But… I don’t know how far in the future I’m talking about, but someday, I’d like to get married and spend my mornings in a very refined way. While my wife was in the kitchen, I’d check the newspaper and play with the children a little. At that time, when a delicious meal was prepared, I’d eat everything, of course (smile).
At the present, [Shinshun Takizawa kamumei/New Spring Takizawa Revolution] is really fun. My awareness increases as I appear, year after year, from the first performance onward, and this time I’ve received a small, good part, so I have a good feeling of high tension and worthiness. Backstage we all play games together, and whether we’re onstage or offstage we’re able to have a great time.
