Take the Sequence Quiz Tinker, Evans, Chance
A famous baseball double-play trio starting in 1902, Chance was the first baseman. Immortalized by a poem
These are the saddest of possible words:
"Tinker to Evers to Chance."
Trio of bear cubs, and fleeter than birds,
Tinker and Evers and Chance.
Ruthlessly pricking our gonfalon bubble,
Making a Giant hit into a double -
Words that are heavy with nothing but trouble:
"Tinker to Evers to Chance."
All three were inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame.
Kellogg's, Loews, Macy's, NetSuite, Inc
These are all companies with
one-letter stock ticker abbreviations, and they proceed in the obvious alphabetical order K, L, M and N.
Clinton, Geithner, Gates, Holder
The Presidential order of succession for Cabinet members.
Boston, Albany, Madison, ----
This demonstrates how stupid I can get when exhausted. The original series had Chicago instead of Madison, and the answer was Madison.
The sequence was intended to enumerate state capital cities on Interstate 90, east to west. I have no idea why I thought Chicago was a state capital. I know Chicago is not a state capital. I've known it since I was really, really young.
There is no state capital further west which I-90 goes through, and so, as I noted, this became a trick question.
