Hi gang :)
I'm back again. Happy Saturday. It's a little grey and cold outside, so I thought I'd pull out my keyboard and blab for a few. I've been to the grocery store and have tonights dinner menu waiting in the fridge. Fish and shrimp bake, with salad. (impressed?)
If you've been wondering how my Pull Toy business is going. Good news! I've finally found a print shop I like, after having been through 3 of them.....including a short and humiliating stint at Kinko's. (Never again)
Heres my latest pull toy design.
You gotta love that pink butt on the mechanical baboon...
This is going to make one wild pull toy. It's still not finished, I have alot of little touch up to do. I haven't worked out all the details yet.
Here's a shot of another design that I may develop, as well as the last 2 I was working on. (and that little yellow Max one, will hopefully become a finished product soon)
Anyway....a little more progress on the Joe and Lo creation.
http://lolo-art.livejournal.com/ I really like the worm guy laying on his side like that. (Actually it happened accidently. He fell over and I really liked it) Lo?? I hope thats ok with his face and hands sticking out from the front?
If you are brave, there is more blab behind the cut
Oh!! I have to include the weekly sponsor...
It's the Black and Decker Workmate!!! I picked this up today, I needed something to set my drill press on. (Yes, another reference to the highly sophisticated equipment I keep in my workshop) This little work bench is so handy....it unfolds....it has little knobs you turn to make you work space bigger and smaller.....it comes in that catchy cardboard box...it sits nice against the couch....it has..knobs to adjust the....
well anyway....you can see Max is impressed.
Onto other things, recently we saw the movie Pan's Labyrinth. It had gotten some really good reviews, plus it looked kinda weird. (That was the part I liked) I didn't think it was a bad movie at all. It was like a grown up fairy tale, with subtitles. But parts of it were a little to bloody for my tastes. I'm prolly a big baby, but there was a some scenes that dealt with torture.....and I have problems dealing with that stuff. This is also why I didn't like the Steven King movie Misery. Anyway....aside from that, it was wonderful.
http://www.panslabyrinth.com/ Here's some shots from the movie.
That guy at the end is kinda creepy......not to mention, he could really use some botox.
Also lately, I've been addicted to the "Firefly" TV show. (Which has been off the air since 2002, but available on a DVD near you) and the spin-off movie "Serenity". Apparently this has gotten a real cult following and I can see why. My brother loaned me the DVD series that I gave him for X-mas, and I've been watching the episodes here and there...and they rawk. (rock)
The series is a Sci-Fi/Western mix. It can be intense as well as humorous and campy. Please leave comments if you have seen the series or the movie.
http://www.serenitymovie.com/ The movie is a little less campy/western and was created by Joss Whedon. (The same guy who did Buffy the Vampire Slayer, which I never watched)
K, I need to quit blabbing and start dinner. Wicked Saturday to you.
Peace,love, sausage
-Joe
