J.Crew and I

If you follow me on Instagram, you'll know that there's been a lot of love for J.Crew recently. It started out with Ken telling me it was time I got some shoes, because after six years, my Keds really weren't cutting it any more. He also mentioned something about proper clothes that would keep me warm, because no matter how many layers you wear, silk dresses will not stop you from freezing.

Around that time, J.Crew sent me a "we're having a sale!" email and I thought, why not, they have sensible looking shoes and lots of woollen sweaters. And so the addiction began.
Being addicted to J.Crew basically means being addicted to sweaters, which I now am. I even buy sweaters for other people; my whole family wears J.Crew now. The DHL man probably knows that when there's a J.Crew box to be delivered, it's going to my house.

Honestly, I can't stop. Not even when I found out that J.Crew mark-up their products for Australian customers, because even then, I wouldn't be able to buy a similar product in Australia for the same price at the same quality. What does that even say about the Australian market, that you can't find a honest cashmere or wool sweater with an ounce of design for a reasonable price?

I think what's really appealing about J.Crew is their "All American" honest branding. If you have a flip through their catalogue, and even their website, you'll see normal looking models, of different heritage, all looking pretty happy to be wearing J.Crew. I can't remember the last online shop I browsed that equally featured Asian, Caucasian and dark-skinned models that were SMILING.
The quality of their products is really exceptional too and while I don't doubt that many of their cheaper items are made in Asia, they have a fair few number of items that I made in Italy and Europe too. Who doesn't love a pair of leather shoes hand-made in Italy?

And it's not a complete outer farce either; their customer service is pretty amazing too. On two occasions, they've sent me the wrong item and, on each occasion, they replied quickly, were extremely apologetic, shipped my item for free plus offered free return shipping and sent me a discount code for my next order. Uhh, yeh, fan for life.

I NEED MORE SWEATERS!!!

I get one of these catalogues for every couple of orders I put in. Looks like it's time to wallpaper the hallway to express my love for J.Crew!

Sweater and t-shirt details

Kiki flats; totally addictive. These come in a range of colours and fabrics, so I guess, gotta catch them all?
