I've been awake for a while now..

Messiness in my room has reached it's all time high. It's making me woozy! Where to start?? Meh, happens every week until I finally get around to cleaning it on Saturday, only for it to get messy once the week commences.

Today's extra long day began at university along with my dreaded Thermodynamics test, which I didn't study for. Despite the fact that our lecturer was trying to be smart by making two different tests (with the same questions but just in a different order), everyone still managed to cheat. It really surprises me that he doesn't notice all the cheating that's going on right before his eyes, because it really is so obvious considering that people can be clearly seen swapping papers, whispering and peeking over shoulders. I put all my faith in Jason, who never studies yet seems to know all, and the fob girl in front of me. Dear Merlin, pass please?

Then off to the Engineering Careers Expo in the city, which turned out to be quite an adventure.

My Chemical Engineering group (Henry, Hakeem, Jason, Angie and Masa) and I made our way to Angie's house as she lives near a station, making it a convenient place to leave our cars (namely just Henry and Jason's cars). And oh gosh is Angie's house nice. She lives in Carnegie in the most gorgeous Victorian house with a quaint garden lined with lavender bushes and a matching stone driveway. Inside was even more amazing with her decor consisted of deep wooden floor boards and spiral staircase, antique chandeliers, brass light switches and baroque wallpaper. I'm so very jealous!

Key highlight: Henry poking himself in the eye with the telescope while falling off the chair.

Anyhow, onward to our adventure.

In short, took the train to Flinders Station. Got off the train. Decided to get back in the train in order to reach Melbourne Central Station. Somehow ended up taking it to an unknown station with lots of bums. Took the train back to Southern Cross Station. Took another train to Melbourne Central. I'm sick of trains.

Key highlight: Having to run for a train, which I have never done in my entire life. And for some reason we were all laughing, and no, I don't know what was so funny, maybe the fact that we were laughing. But it must have been a very odd sight.

After finally arriving at Melbourne Central Station, the boys got distracted by a Tommy Hilfiger sale, however Masa and I managed to drag them away before Hakeem and Henry started a fight over who was going to own a certain black knit.

The Expo itself was so-so. There were a nice range of employers, but none of the really big companies, however I don't suppose you can get any bigger than Bhp Billition. Though, that said, there's quite a lot of opportunities out there and I managed to get a couple of business cards as well as a nice inside contact from Hakeem's brother, who works for Coffey (a large specialist engineering company).

However the novelty wore off after about 30 minutes and I joined Henry and Hakeem (who were bored the minute they got there) in standing around while being pushed around by the crowd.

Key highlight: Henry being bored. During the next 30 minutes I watched him:
  • attach a brochure to his arm whilst pretending it was some sort of arm gun
  • hit me with a tape measurer as he swung it around like a yo-yo

  • After finally gathering the group up, we stumbled over to a Ramen place Hakeem and I used to visit often in the good-old Year-12-tsfx-tuition-days. And the best part of my day: a huge bowl of Ramen for $10.00.

So to end this massive day and this massive post, we took the oldest train back to Angie's place and Henry drove me home in his sleek black Civic.

My legs ache, but it's okay because they were kept warm by my super soft Merino wool stockings. Gotta love those stockings.
