I know it's a bit late but boy did I have a great visit back to the twin cities and Rochester last weekend. The perfect way to celebrate my return to Minneapolis was when Denny and I hit SaWatDee and stuffed ourselves...and also polished off a bottle of sake. Damn that was good.
We drove down to Rochester the next day and it was so good to see the entire gang again! Me,
svenden,
nordicgrrl and the entire entourage hit the Viking in full force friday night and had a blast. Like Denny mentions in his post, there was much drinking, many (badly made) shots, and tons of laughter...not to mention the "interesting" conversations at Perkins after we closed the bar! KJ Kyle was tolerable too, and THANK-GOD he didn't bring his childrens books for me to read! I'll get you back for that one Deb. LOL Oh, and it should be said that my divettes rocked the house. I think we should all just have the Queen Diva status associated to us now. :P
Saturday was Joanne's wedding...the whole reason I flew down to the midwest. She wanted me there to sing with her at her reception. First off, I had next to no voice left after the wild karaoke party the night before, and secondly they couldn't get their sound system working. LOL So Denny and I eventually headed out to dinner/drinks with our gal "Sheila" and then to the Sandtrap to sing. Let me just say that it's awesome to walk into a place and be greeted by screams. LOL Angie was there and we finally got to sing together again. Oh, not to mention how happy Connie, Ammy, and Sadie were! LOL One elderly lady was there that always used to come out to listen to the singing when I lived there. She pulled me aside before I left for a big hug and asked how I was doing, what i was doing for work, etc... It was so sweet. Anyhow, then it all ended with a fabulous time at the Viking again where George, Kyle, and Connie joined us too. Dee and I finally got to sing together again and I managed one more song in before calling it quits.
I love singing at the Viking...very appreciative crowds to say the least. A performer/singer from Virginia told me I should be in musical theater productions, another lady was telling Dee and I that we should be American Idols, and random people came up to me to tell me how awesome a job I did of "Walking In Memphis". I'm still riding high on it all, what a rush.
Ooooh, almost forgot! Deb and her hubby quickly grew to love ketchup flavored chips! LOL I took 5 (Pringles) tubes with me. Denny got 2, Deb and her hubby got 3. LOL I haven't lost as much weight as Denny yet but it was awesome hearing everyone tell me I looked thinner than before. LOL It was also good to hear how hot I looked in my outfit for the wedding! (Not that it went to my head or anything...right Denny?) LOL
I flew back here Sunday, and attended the Mariah Carey concert on monday night. It was awesome! I'm hoping to fly to SanFrancisco in a week to see all my pals out there too. I really need to visit y'all in Rochester again soon though...I miss the fun already!
