Accidents! Bank Accounts! Read all about it!

Aaah, only six more weeks to go, then its a) holidays and b) permanent workhour reduction. Huzzah! I can't tell you how very much I'm looking forward to this; the last months have been very hard; I've been working more than was good for me, and I felt the effect. I was permanently exhausted, and my neurologist has ordered a new Ferrari.

(That's not my neurologist. That's Paulchen.)

I've been neglecting LJ in terms of writing; like so many, I don't seem to have enough time. But I'm still here, and I've been writing a lot recently. Fanfic, mostly, I'm on a LOTR/Hobbit spree, and you know what it's like, you have to write when you have a story in your head, because if you put it off until you it would suit your work schedule, that idea might be gone. So I'm writing, writing, writing, and Eveiya is betaing, betaing, betaing. It's like in the good old times. I love it! And it's a much-needed cheer-up.

So - what else? I've managed to have an accident which was so utterly stupid that everybody, from the doctor to the head of HR to the person at the insurance had to laugh. And I can't blame them. Here is the culprit. Have a good look at him, he's a career criminal:

Pablo's got every reason to look so guilty, because he managed to drop from the kitty path on the wall on my back from a height of 2m. Now, that cat weighs almost 7kg and consists mostly of muscles and bones. Actually, he's more of a dog than a cat; and it was like being hit with a sand bag. I toppled over and heard something crack. I now have a massive bruise on my back/neck, which is pressing on my spine and nerves. It hurts like hell and makes moving difficult; heals very slowly and does not earn me any sympathy points because people first laugh and then ask if the cat is ok. Yes, the cat is fine, thank you! Heh! Beast! But he must suffer from a bad conscience, because ever since, he looks at me with those sad puppy eyes. Not working! No Dreamies for you until I can sleep properly again, amigo! :P

And today I made yet another step on my quest to become a less consumerist person, and closed my bank account with Random Regular Swiss Bank ("but why are you closing your account with us?" "Because I don't like the way you do business." "But whyyyyyyyyy?" "Weapons... credits... tax evasion..." "But whyyyy....?").

Then I opened an account with the Alternative Bank. They do not invest money into any questionable activities (for example weapons or food speculation), you can donate your interest to fund micro credits, their business is very transparent etc. You can read more about it here. Small steps, I know, but we'll get there...
