Ignore the horror, analyse the trivial

Jul 20, 2012 21:33

I've just read the news about the shooting in Aurora/Colorado. It's absolutely shocking; I sit here and wonder how anybody could do such a thing. You read about it and watch it on TV and despite thousands of experts' comments which will flood the media within the next weeks, one simply can't understand it.

And I also don't understand how anybody with even one working braincell can start a discussion on whether or not babies should be allowed in late-night screenings or what song this man listened to while he carried out his unbelievable crime.

WHO CARES ABOUT SUCH COMPLETELY UNIMPORTANT SHITE RIGHT NOW?!

I'm serious, I want to know who would care about such a trivial thing if just 12 people died and the Gods know how many more were injured? Who? What kind of person comes up with this? And why? It's like the people discussing whether or not getting involved in politics was "appropriate" for youngster safter the mass murders in Oslo and on Utoya. No matter how they try to justify their "concerns", it's nothing but victim blaming. Why would anybody want to blame victims, for crying out loud?

Either these people are too scared to face horrific events, or - what? Ignorants? Twits? Shitheads? Your guess is as good as mine. I just wish somebody would invent a device to punch people through the screen already.

My thoughts are with all victims of this tragedy, their families and friends.
