So far a Very good mini-series.
I watched last night and will watch the rest.
I agree the acting was very good and the story stayed
close to history.
I also thought Damian nailed the "Appalachian accent" perfectly.

I admit that I have a hard time understanding what's said, but then I'm ESL; I have the same problem with other accents. Good to hear he got the accent right. :)

It's really a good series; very dark though and depressing, but (mostly) very well acted. After suffering through Ellison's death, I'm not sure I can stomach the departure of Cotton Top as well (can't help it, I prefer happy endings...)

We were bullied at school and found our own form of justice. Sorted it out ourselves after school. My brother taught me how to take care of them by knocking them down...not hitting really but literally knocking them off their feet. No one messed with me after that. :) Word got around.

Brava! Good one! \0/

I'm afraid my brother didn't stick to lessons, he beat that idiot up very thoroughly, and that was it. Very bad, of course, and not to be encouraged, but I can't say that I have any regrets! Ten year old me was very grateful!

So... I'll be seeing if our history channel or hulu has this on demand... this looks SMASHING. (And the way you described it in the gallery? Game of Thrones with guns? Best way to sell it to me you could possibly have come up with. Not that I needed selling... it's Damian O'Hare in a Western.)

I don't know where you're located, but the three episodes are currently available from History Channel, maybe you could catch up with it there? It's really, really well done, cinema quality, actually. And a lot of truly fine performances.

Game of Thrones with guns?

I did see some parallels, though to me, "Hatfields & McCoys" feels darker as it's based on a real story. I'm not familiar with the history of this, but I felt they captured the mood of the era. And Damian really did well! :D
