I hanged Mr. Silvester and sent Cards

Dec 12, 2011 19:04

I finally found a solution for the "cats + christmas don't mix" problem. A thin chain across the room, out of harm's and cats' way, yet still easy to decorate, and come next year, I can still use it to hang up postcards etc.

Did I say "easy" to decorate? Hahaha! OK, imagine getting the chain up, 3.50m garland wrapped around it and then the baubles up WITH ONE HAND while balancing on a ladder with two cats clinging to your skirt and playing Tarzan. In the end I gave up and left the decoration business to Lorchen and Buttons.

I also hanged Mr. Silvester. I couldn’t help it; I just couldn’t resist to make him the centrepiece of my Yuletide decoration, and you must admit that he’s making a very fetching Christmas ornament. The BBC could make a ton of money with Garrow’s Law ornaments - Mr. Garrow baubles! Lady Sarah garlands! And imagine Judge Buller on top of your Christmas tree!

I also sent out the first batch of my cards to you. The first time EVER that I send printed cards rather than written ones... my apologies, I know that it's bad style, but it couldn't be helped this year. And if you can't read the signature on a card, it's very likely it's from me.

Buttons licked all the stamps, by the way. No wonder he's exhausted.
