anonymous comments disabled
due to yet another wave of spam comments, i've turned the option for anonymous commenting on lj off for good. until now, i've just screened comments from people without a lj account, but after deleting yet again 7 spam comments, i'm fed up.
oddly enough, spamming always happens when lj is under a "ddos attack". now, like probably most people, i don't mind a bit of downtime if it helps to keep the russian bloggers online and able to criticise their government.
but i'm beginning to wonder if that's really the full truth. i mean, looking at the ip addresses of the spammers, I wonder who we are dealing with here: russian government officials who are ddos'ing lj while hawking ugg boots, coach bags and canadian goose jackets? and what the hell does a goose need a jacket for, anyway?
