Updated: "The Gillington Formula" - What year is PotC set in?

May 20, 2011 22:54

The Gillington Formula (also known as "Mathematics and Historical Blunders") has now been updated and includes all four movies. Wrong Kings, missing Queens, anachronistic uniforms and ignored earthquakes - it's all there!

THE GILLINGTON FORMULA

The specification of the historical timeframe for the "Pirates of the Caribbean" movies is not easy. Creative liberty of the authors and naps they held during history lessons (ever heard of Queen Anne, gentlemen?) make it difficult for aficionados to agree even on the century.

With the help of Mr. Gillette's mathematical talents and Mr. Norrington's in-depth historical knowledge, we have tackled this problem from a strictly scientific point of view and have made an evaluation based on the currently available data. Please take into account that these are average numbers.
