Review: "Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides"

May 18, 2011 23:00

My apologies in advance to everybody who loved that movie. I don't want to harsh your squee, so you might want to avoid this entry.

Imagine you're invited to a tea party at Scrooge McDuck's house, along with twenty other people. To save the host money, all the guests have to share one tea bag. The fluid in your cup would have more flavour than "Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides". And at least the invitation wouldn't have cost you money.

OST is worse than "At Wits End", and I didn't think that would be possible. Especially if you like the navy. You ask me if you should go and see it? The hell the no. Wait for the DVD to turn up in your local thrift shop. At least you'll support charity if you buy it there.

They have fantastic actors that don't get the chance to act. They have wonderful ships that they don't show. They have two navies that they don't use. The main characters have no chemistry. There's a romance that has no point or plot. Well, neither has the movie. Oh, and

Highlight to read spoilers:

they killed both Gillette and Groves. Damian O'Hare and Greg Ellis should count themselves lucky, because they don't risk ever having to appear in this franchise again.

In conclusion: screw you, Disney.
