I think mail would arrive faster if we'd still use pigeons. A postcards sent from here on the 30th didn't arrive before today, and that's within the country. I'm sorry for the late "thank yous"; I can only apologise for our snail mail here.

And now for a small mystery: somebody sent me the most gorgeous red scarf ever (perfect colour for my best black dress!) from the USA. Unfortunately, there was no note or card attached, and the name of the sender doesn't sound familiar. Please, could the person who sent me this wonderful present get in touch with me so I can say thank you?
