I went over to the Latin American Association today to do a volunteer gig, and walked out with a 5-week teaching contract. Woot! 20 students for level 1 English!

I've just finished doing a bit of translation work for the Georgia ACLU. It seems that they are investigating the failure of state courts to provide translators for persons of limited English proficiency, as they are required to do by law. The assignments are all turned in, the presentations are all done, and most importantly, the grades are all posted. I didn't just get an A this semester, I got an A+. Today I did a marathon session of safety seminars and car seat installations to keep my CPST license current. I just barely passed all my installations--I hadn't done a booster seat since my class in November. The seminars were easier, but a bit tedious and occasionally scary. Well, it's official. I am now a nationaly certified Child Passenger Safety Technician. I can tell you more about seat belts, air bags, and child restraint systems than you ever wanted to know.
