Patterns
On the off chance that I follow up on my whim to try and make River's dress from Serenity,, here are a few patterns I've found that look like they might do the trick:
I'm having trouble deciding if the neckline is a cowl or a loose V or scoop. If it is a cowl, this might do, if I widen the straps. Not sure about that big bow in the back, either; I haven't seen any screen caps of the back of River's dress.
If it's a V-neck, I could try this, again widening the straps.
If it's a scoop neck, this has the right basic shape, but would need to be lengthened.
This is probably not right at all, but wow, isn't it cool?? Vogue patterns are pretty complex to begin with, and the fact that they've labelled this one "advanced" is pretty daunting. So this one is mostly out of the running.
