I <3 Haagen Dazs
Poll is up and...well it's too early to tell how I will do so I need positive thoughts! And nothing cheers a girl up like ice-cream! Or it's less fattening, less unctuous (which is a good thing sometimes) cousin, the glorious sorbet! I love sorbets, when you want something fruity and refreshing, a little acidic...
I absolutely love those little ice-cream shop, freshly made ice-cream and sorbets...*sighs*. Well anyways since Toronto is a culinary wasteland and I sure ain't going to an ice-cream store in the middle of this ice age I do the next best thing.
The supermarket! And I don't care what you people say, Haagen Dazs>>>>the cheap crap. You can soooooo taste a difference it's not even funny. I know...six freaking dollars (well over here anyways) for a small ass cup when you can get a bigger one for two dollars only?! Welllllll besides the quality of the ingredients premium ice cream contains a lot less air and therefore are much denser than your normal ice cream. I may be spending four more dollars but I ain't buying air at least. Also, have you compare the ingredients list? Haagen Dazs' one is probably a lot shorter~ Not to mention, the packaging is much better, and not in the way you are thinking. I mean, it's a lot stronger, it closes better, not likely to warp into origami every time you hold it~
Anyways, what made me so happy that I have to make a post about it? I just tried their Mango sorbet. I did not have high hopes for it because the one I had before was absolute shit. It was disgusting, so artificial and grainy and omg ugh, just gross! I don't have that much hopes for it, mangoes aren't in season, people seems to not know how to pick them, even the Asian brands screw it up (mango is more of an Asian flavor I think~), and I think they are using apple mangoes because on the picture there are...apple mangoes but I thought, what they hey? Why not try it? And it's so good I can't believe it!
