I've turned the terrible two's

Yes everyone. I'm now officially an old woman. But then again, I've always been rather impatient wheras my career and general doings are concerned. I want more power and I want it now. I was reading an article on the special prosecutor for the valerie plame case who is apparently concidered to be a spring chicken at the age of 44. 44!!! As someone whose planning on kicking the bucket at age 65, that's simply intolerable.
Don't get me wrong, I'm really looking fowards to going to grad school for lesse the next 6 years of my life, like how I would be if I was strapped into a rollercoaster heading up the first hill. Cant stop. Can't get out, so I might as well enjoy the ride. Anyways, that's a terrible metaphor because i hate rollercoasters but this is all part of my tendency to editorialize far too much.
Anyways, spent a good deal of it at this ECC (internship) info session/fundraiser/pool party which ended up being a giant excuse to eat ice cream and seen and be seen where these chauvinist pigs at the radio station that was sponsoring an event kept bugging me to enter the bikini contest. The nerve!!!
Objectifying women for dubious material gain is not my idea of fun. But not to be the gatecrasher, i politely declined.
Other than than just hung out with my family at chuys' where my little sis decided that she just HAD to tell the waiter that is was my birthday to which they marshalled up the usual coterie of waiters to loudly sing happy birthday after putting a large sombrero on my head;-). But I got to see what crazy ass changes mi familia's been making to the house and the backyard, completely replacede the deck and made a terraced stone patio, decorated in true Japanese garden zen style replete with a bronze buddha, bought on the cheap from e-bay. I wonder what sort of karma that gets ya.
