We have the fireplace channel on my mom's giant TV. And I'm using youtube to play my favourite christmas carols so I don't need to listen to the eighteenth version of a choral rendition of jingle bells on the radio.

This afternoon I took my mom to see A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, and it was hilarious. Very nice as a Christmas treat. And I ran into Andromakie and Elizalavelle, which was fun. I hustled around to the stage door after the show to give my friend a hug, and then we came home and hunkered down for the evening.

All the presents are wrapped and under the tree. The house and tree are decorated. My siblings came over for the evening and at no point was it necessary for me to kill my sister, which was a pleasant change.

When my mom gets back from dropping my sister at home, we're going to watch the Muppet Family Christmas, the one I remember from when I was little, where they all go to Fozzie's mom's place for Christmas, and the fraggles and the Sesame Street muppets show up as well. That just blew my little seven-year-old mind.

Tonight, after I go to bed, my mom will stuff the stockings and lay out the presents from Santa. Then, after SHE goes to bed, I will go out and stuff HER stocking and put out her present from Santa. (I have been a secondary Santa in my house since my mom split from my step-dad and there was no one else to stuff her stocking. I enjoy it, though. I am the spirit of christmas in our house.)

Tomorrow morning, my brother and sister and my dad will come over and we'll open presents, have a traditional English breakfast, call the relatives in the UK, then start cooking. Dinner in the afternoon with all the family plus my brother's girlfriend (who is awesome) and maybe Stewart, too.

Happy holidays everyone!
