And yep, it's because of my love of Man on Fire, and Denzel, that I want to see Book of Eli. The religious stuff just maakes me want to see it more. Don't even care if it's preachy.
Still say you're missing the boat on Blackest Night, but this is coming from someone who hasn't read a new issue of that stuff in several weeks.
Japanese horror can be great. Oldboy -- fantastic. If you can call it horror. It's horrific, but I dunno if it's really horror. Battle Royale. Same. That stuff... awesome. Other stuff... I have a hard time with that.

I've read a couple of the Blackest Night issues and it's good, but just doesn't work for me. Probably because I have no knowledge of anything GL since the Hal-redemption. Rayner (or Stewart!) 4 life. I'm sure I'll catch it in trade form.
I wouldn't call Oldboy or Battle Royale horror, more like psychological dramas. I was watching Audition at the time. J-Horror is like hearing a radically different cover of your favorite song. The music is all there, but the beats are just off. It still may work, but I have to look at it a whole different way.
