I went and saw Book of Eli tonight. It's a good movie, but kind of strange. It's pretty religious. And would be more so if it weren't for the fact that Denzel kills like 30 dudes and the bad language. I dug it because I'm a sucker for Denzel. I like just about anything he's in. Esp. if he gets to be a badass in it and this is one of his more badass roles. He almost outdoes his ass-kickery from Man on Fire, not quite, but close. The religious angle makes for a bit of a strange movie though. I'm not sure who the movie's target audience is. It seems far too R-rated for god-pounders to like it, but most action movie junkies (including yours truly) will be somewhat put off by the movie's overall message. Still at the end of the day, we get to see Denzel get his Mad Max on which is totally worth the price of admission. I was having serious Fallout 3 flashbacks throughout the whole movie, in a good way. B- edging up to a B depending on how you feel about post-apocalyptia.
Since almost nothing good came out in comics this week, I'm only 1 issue of Powers, 6 issues of Fables, 5 issues of The Walking Dead and 1 issue of The Brave and The Bold away from being totally up to date on my comics for the first time in 6-months. Next I'll have to get to work on my stack of books I got for Christmas. No rest for the weary!
I'm very tempted to go on another motorcycle trip somewhere. Vegas is calling me.
Japanese horror movies are just weird.
