A lawyer just accused me of being biased because I keep citing his client as the "alleged illegal drug lord" and threatened to file libel charges against me and the paper I work for if I continue to write about his client. Well, his client is really on trial for maintaining a shabu laboratory so, I cannot really say otherwise. This is my second letter from him and it's really annoying me. He wants me to stop writing about his client and the trial, which is impossible. (And other reporters are also covering the trial , too. ) To clear up the legal issues, my editor had me talk to the paper's lawyers, who told me that they'll write him, my fan, a letter saying I'm merely reporting and that there's nothing wrong with my reports. Just another day on the job, I guess. So. Anyone had the same experience as me? What were the ridiculous demands/threats you got from the lawyers/ subjects?
