Claire turned off the waffle maker and placed the last waffle onto her plate. She made her way to the dinner table where her children were eating breakfast.
“Enjoying our breakfast, are we?” She asked cheerfully and sat down.
“Yes.” All three of them declared.
“Good. ‘Cause I have a surprise for y’all that’s even better than waffles.” Claire said and poured some syrup on her waffle.
“What?” Asked Amy, her oldest daughter.
“Uncle Peter’s coming to visit, isn’t that great?” Claire gave a big smile and tried to pass on her joy.
“Oh.” A disappointment was heard form all of them.
“What? I thought you were happy that he decided to visit us.”
“He’s always fighting with daddy and calling him names and then you get mad at him and throw him out and he doesn’t have any time to spend time with us.” Gabriella pouted.
“I see. Well, I promise that daddy’s not gonna fight with Uncle Peter, okay. Now eat.”
-
“Come on, Sylar. Just try to be nice to him. For the kids.” Claire had spent the last hour trying to convince her husband to leave her uncle alone for the day.
Sylar rolled his eyes and sighed. He should just go along with her or she would pull the sex card.
“Okay, I promise. I’ll try to be nice to him.”
“Thank you.” Claire said victoriously and kissed her husband.
-
“Uncle Peter.” Gabriella screamed happily and ran to hug Peters leg.
“Hey Bree. Happy to see me?” Peter said and lifted the five year old up.
“Yes. We waited for you the whole morning.”
Peter carried Gabriella to the living room where the whole Gray family was sitting. “Hello.” He greeted them all. “Sylar.”
“Peter.” Sylar mumbled.
Claire gave Sylar an angry glare before turning to Peter. “What you’ve been up to, tell me everything.”
“Well…” Peter started but was stopped by three angry Gray girls. “No.”
“Mom, you can chat with him later.” Cheryl said angrily.
“Okay, honey. I’ll talk to him when you get back.” Claire smiled.
“Where are we going?” Peter asked and lowered Gabriella to the floor.
“To the zoo. I’ve got it all planned. First we go see the small animals than the little bigger ones and then the biggest ones and our tour stops at Elephants. But we have to go buy cameras before we go there because I wanna memorise this day.” Cheryl explained.
“What do you mean, memorise? We’ve been to that zoo a million times before and I can tell you that the animals are the same as always. Boring.” Amy stated.
“’Cause you don’t appreciate the nature and animals don’t mean that the rest of us do. And ‘cause you like some machines that spin you around and make you sick doesn’t mean that the rest of us do.” Cheryl shouted.
Sylar noticed that the temperature was getting too hot and figured that he should break the fight before Cheryl would burn her sister. “Enough from the two of you. You are going to spend the day at the zoo and Amy you’re not going to complain about it. Next time, and if there will be a next time, you can go to the amusement park with Peter. Okay?”
Both girls pouted and gave each others angry glares. “Okay.” Both said at the same time.
Gabriella laughed at her big sisters. “You’re funny when you fight.”
“What ever.” Amy said and went to put her shoes and jacket on.
“Are you ready to leave?” Peter asked from Gabriella.
Gabriella nodded and ran to the door. “Come on Cheri.”
Cheryl followed her sister.
“Have fun and keep an eye on Cheryl and Amy. You know how they can get fighting and we don’t need Cheryl setting the whole zoo on fire.” Claire said.
“Yeah, I know. We don’t need another movie disaster.” Peter smiled and followed the three girls.
