So I can't get enough of the guitar lately. I downloaded a lot of midi files with tabs included through power tab editor (.com), and I've been workin' a bit with Tabledit too, which is quite the same thing. So aside from the help of random tabs on free guitar lessons, thanks to
http://www.powertabs.net, I've been playing along w/ all the old school nintendo games - the Megaman series, Castlevania, Batman (level 1 - streets of desolation: find it on www.vgmusic.com), etc. The Batman song I have nearly perfected in the 2 hours or so I worked on it. I also learned and tabbed the acoustic solo for Arch Enemy - Cosmic Retribution ( around 2:14 in the song) and have nearly mastered that one as well. You can check out some of the midi tabs I've done for tabledit at my friend's website, www.plaristocrates.com. Click on art, then music, and that's me. Some songs rock. And the others rock too, and if you disagree, you're simply wrong. And in the event that I happen to return to AIM (Canaanabolaanan), you can get other songs not submitted on that website. 'cause face it, I rock, and you want to hear it.
So yeah, in other news, I've finally stepped away from CS, at least for two weeks so far, and when you're addicted and log 3 hours or so a day, it really is like experiencing a whole new way of life. Er, it's not entirely new, as I've replaced it with Call of Duty. Speaking of which, good word, if you wanna play me in some CoD, fair warning, your mouse works fine. It's just that you won't ever feel like you're in control of it because you're always dead. True story.
School school school school, uh, I had a research paper due like a week ago that I've just kinda completely blown off and can't seem to get myself to finish. English 105 though. Every day we learn a bit more grammar and crap. Today - we learned about the usage of transitions. I mean, I might understand studying that now if I were learning a foreign language, and it was my first year at that. But dear God I've been speaking English all my life, and I can't fathom how we can possibly not know what a transition is, or what some of the most common examples are. To teach that at an institute of higher learning is like getting a rock whipped at your nuts. It sucks. (That was the best analogy I could create. Deal.)
TV - Scrubs is the current best show. It may even hold a candle when Family Guy returns sometime next January. Sea Lab is also up there, along w/ Chapelle. If you've lost your sense of humor, you'll find it there.
Saw Dream Theater in concert March 22nd. 3 hour show w/ no openers. How much of a boner would one have to pop to express how awesome that is? Had to be careful that didn't happen at the show though. Not many girls there. Uncomfortable. Upcoming shows that are worthy of sacrificing your hearing include Evergrey and Children of Bodom opening for Iced Earth, and In Flames with aoinvew;a. The point is that it doesn't matter who they're with. It's In Flames. And their latest CD is like a koala bear crapping a rainbow in my brain.
Itinerary for the next two weeks, which procrastination will help expand over the next two months: Sign up for classes online, return RAM to MWAVE because they suck so hard, purchase new RAM from local Apes - surely it will work better, oh yeah, research paper (very likely that won't happen), leave apartment and take a breath of fresh air, talk to a girl, sleep more than 6 hours without sleeping through a class, and manage to find reliable transportation. My car has so many problems that I think it's not a car at all, but some pubescent girl. And I shall, for the very first time, name it: Ingrid. Alright, homework for important classes to do yet.
In summation (one of those transitions I've heard so much about), guitar is greater than Harry Potter.
