wow...shellshocked.....don't know what to say...my dad phones me up and tells me that he has an opportunity to buy a place thats like half a block from where they live right now, and it has a big giant building on the property that i could have as shop space if i wanted......right there, just like that, i would have a shop......next to my dads house, and he would own the shop......it seems so good, i kind of want to pick up the offer...but i'm afraid of whats dangling on a string on the other side of it that i can't see yet.....he said it would help their decision for buying the place if i were to take the shop....i don't want to be the reason that he buys the place, if i don't take the shop are they still going to buy the house...or is the only reason their buying the house is so i can have the shop.....he also said there'd be room to live there if i wanted to, and it's about a 10 minute bike ride from one of the places that's potential employment for the summer.......uhhhhh...it feels like he's trying to suck me into something...come here little boy, i have some candy for you, it's just in my van, hop in for a sec.....but then again i would have a shop as soon as i got back to calgary, and i wouldn't have to worry about saving up to find some place to get one....it also seemed like i wouldn't have to rent it from him....it was a if we buy the place, you can have the shop, it would be mine, but then am i getting suckered into a commitment of having this shop, even if something better comes along, they buy the house so i can have the shop, i decide to move to australia next winter or something, i don't know, and then they're stuck with this house they only wanted so i could have the shop, and then i'm not even there any more, it would probably turn into some guilt trip with him if they do buy it for me, and then i try to get out of it, he'll get all pouty and whiny, but we bought it for you, aren't you even going to stay and use it............it just seems so good that there has to be some sort of hidden catch.....i don't even know what the space is like yet, other concerns are noise levels, would a blacksmith shop by too noisy in the middle of a residential area?...is there a gas line to the building.....all i would have to do is build a gas forge, and hook it up to the line, and find a stump for anvil, and i could start making stuff right away.......two car garage, with big R.V. sized doors....which means if the doors fit RV's, it's probably long enough to fit RV's as well, so i think it's probably a really big space......bah......
