So I found this band called Death to Anders and based on only two of their songs I decided to buy their album. They are an unsigned, DIY band but I still wasn't expecting what happened. About an hour after I purchased there album from their
website I received this email:
Josh!
Thank you so much for buying our album "Fictitious Business." I'm mailing that CD out to you ASAP.
It will be quite some time until we make it out to Orlando to play show, but in the meantime, I hope that our album keeps you entertained.
Just out of curiosity, how did you come across us?
Once again, Thank you!
Kind Regards,
Rob Danson......d2a
To which I replied:
Hey rob!
I found you guys on the obscuresound.com blog that I frequent. I was listening to the February Best of Compilation and your song Camera Lens came up and entirely based off of that song I decided to buy the album. After listening to Fictitious Business and Doll I became adamant. I'm really excited about receiving the album so I can listen to the rest of it; thanks for sending it out so quickly!
I'm pretty bummed that you guys won't be coming here anytime soon, but I'm planning on spreading your name around town, because these songs are so good, and this will hopefully add to your Orlando fanbase in case you ever do travel out this way.
I really appreciate you taking the time to email me.
My thanks to you!
Josh
Also, my friend Jess wanted me to tell you that she thinks it's awesome that you actually wrote me just for buying your cd. I agree.
To which they replied:
Fuck yeah Josh!!
We appreciate everyone that supports our band. I'm really excited for you to hear the rest of the album. We are all really proud of it.
In terms of coming out to Florida, we're unsigned and pretty poor. Gas prices are killing us, so its hard to get out of California. For now, we're just playing in-state, going from San Diego all the way up to Sacramento. California is HUGE, so that entire length costs about $400 in gas. That plus renting a van that fits all of our gear, it can get really expensive.
Anyway, please let me know when you receive the album. I'd love to get your thoughts on it as well.
Hope you're doing great!!

Death to Anders = coolest band I've ever bought an album from.
The simplest interactions evoke the best feelings.
Yay!
