Me: What's up? (I have a friend whose number comes up restricted - only one)
Caller: Hey, it's ::garbled:: when are we going to Stacie's?
Me: [I don't know a Stacie. Did I make double plans again? Shit!] I'm sorry?
Caller: I was just wondering when we were gonna go to Stacie's, and if you wanted a ride or not?
Me: Ummmm...I think you have the wrong number. Hi. My name's Josh.
Caller: This is Sharon. I am so embarrassed.
Me: No. Don't worry about it. You came up in my caller id the same way as a friend of mine and I thought you were her.
Caller: I thought you were a friend too.
Me: Well I am - we just don't know each other is all.
Caller: lol I'm so sorry.
Me: Don't worry about it - have fun - drive safe.
Caller: You too.

ATT Automated: This is AT&T with a collect call from "DC" at the Ohio Correctional facility. Your service provider does not allow accepting collect calls from inmates. If you would like to enter your credit card information to purchase minutes for this call please press...so on and so forth.
Me: [Hang up]
[One hour later]
ATT Automated: This is AT&T with a collect call from "DC" at the Ohio Correctional facility. Your service provider does not allow...
I was tempted for half-a-second to accept that call - because we all could use a friend - but, I didn't want them to waste their one phone call on a complete stranger.
I know my number is easy to remember - but, man!
